First Presbyterian Church, founded in 1890, is a congregation of the Gulf South Presbytery of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church located on the Gulf Coast in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Happenings at First Presbyterian Church


Anniversary Cookbook  
A church cookbook is being compiled in celebration of the church's 125th anniversary. Submissions of "tried & true" recipes by members and friends of the church should be received by January 31.

Prayer Group  1/26/15  (9:00 AM)
All are invited to participate in this weekly hour of prayer that meets on Mondays in the Conference Room.

Session Meeting  1/27/15  (5:30 PM - 7:00 PM)
Followed by supper at 5:30 p.m., the Session meets tonight at 6 p.m.

Tuesday Youth Bible Study  1/27/15  (6:30 PM - 8:00 PM)
The girls are studying a series on Modesty, while the boys are studying the book of Acts.

Elders Needed  
Able elders, current and inactive, are encouraged to sign up to serve communion on the calendar in the main hallway.

WBS  1/28/15  (5:15 PM - 7:00 PM)
Following supper at 5:15 pm, WBS continues today with classes for all. Tonight's menu is banana pudding, bread, salad, lima beans, potato salad, & baked chicken.

Adult Choir Rehearsal  1/28/15  (7:00 PM - 8:00 PM)
Ric Sawyer, director of music, leads weekly rehearsals in the Choir Room.

Cursillo 4th Day  
There are three Cursillo 4th Day meetings weekly. The first meets on Mondays at 10 a.m., the second on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. and the 3rd on Thursdays at 7 a.m. All meet in the Library. Call 762-2824 for more information.

BackPack Buddies  1/29/15  (10:00 AM)
Packing continues on Thursdays though out the school year. BackPack Buddies provides children from food-insecure homes with weekend meals during the school year. Contact Amy Brandenstein at 217-1073 for more information.

Sunday Worship  2/01/15  (8:30 AM - 12:00 PM)
The Rev. Matt Mitchell will preach at 8:30 & 11 a.m. services of worship.

Sunday Youth Groups  2/01/15  (4:00 PM - 7:30 PM)
Fifth and sixth graders meet at 4 pm and are studying the book of Daniel. Following supper, 7th through 12th graders meet at 5:30 pm to study Elijah.

April Barr Seminar  2/07/15
FPC is presenting a seminar for mothers and their daughters (6th-12th grades)on developing their treasures within. Mothers of all aged girls are encouraged to participate in this FREE event.
